Do I need to change, or am I having bad luck?

I'll make this quite short and you'll not like my answer. You appear to be a person who makes excuses and blames all shortcomings on either your teachers or your situation. Unless you change, and start accepting responsibility for yourself, you are going to have a long miserable life.
